Decker McLean Jory grew up on the Front Range of Colorado near Golden. His family was steeped in the tradition of skiing and he grew up sliding on snow. Although he both alpine skied and snowboarded during his youth, he eventually would gravitate towards Telemark skiing.

In the early 2000s he was sponsored by LINE skis as a Telemark skier, competing in big air and slopestyle competions. During this era he would start living an endless winter traveling between North America and New Zealand in the constant search for good snow and good times.

He eventually transitioned from being on the LINE team over to the KARHU team, since both companies were owned by the same parent company at the time. During his time with KARHU, he continued to compete as well as become more involved with other things like ski graphics. He helped design the graphics for the KARHU TEAM 100 ski as well as the KARHU Agent of the same vintage.

Following his Telemark ski career he became passionate about sushi and worked in that industry until landing in his current gig in aerospace.
