Dave Bombard grew up in Massachusetts and grew up skiing at Wachusset and other New England ski areas. After graduate school he headed west to be closer to skiing and the mountains while pursuing a career as an engineer, dealing with medical devices and surgical tools. Several of those years were in California, but he eventually moved to Colorado. During a stint of consulting and working remote he met Fin Doyle, the original owner of Bomber Industries and creator of the Bishop binding which was produced for about 5 years in the early 2000s. Fin and Dave originally created a partnership to re-launch the Bishop binding, but in the end Dave acquired the rights to the original design and launched his own business and along with it the Bishop 2.0.
