Marshell Thompson is originally from the east coast of the United States, but moved to the Durango, Colorado when he was 18 years old to attend Ft. Lewis College. He learned how to Telemark through the free telemark rental program at the college and has been doing it ever since. After years of traveling, he settled into Silverton, Colorado where he spends the majority of his winter days backcountry Telemark skiing. In 2020 he entered an edit into Telemark Colorado’s King and Queen of The Heel Competition called “King of The Lurk.” And more recently he released his short film by the same name in 2021 and toured it alongside “Future Freeheel 2” & Telemark Colorado’s “Why Not?”
On top of his video exploits he is the creator of San Juan Sticks, a detachable lurk that is custom made in Colorado. They have collaborated with Bishop to release a production of these fine lurk specimens.
